About Mission Viejo Homeowners' Association
The Mission Viejo Homeowners' Association Inc. was established in 1975 to serve the residents
and property owners of the Mission Viejo subdivision in Aurora, Colorado. Originally chartered
as a traditional homeowners association with enforcement powers, the organization evolved following
a 2008 court decision to become a volunteer community organization focused on neighborhood
improvement and resident services.
Our Mission
To advance the interests of the residents and property owners of Mission Viejo by maintaining
high quality residential areas and promoting community engagement through various programs and
services that benefit the neighborhood and its residents.
Current Status
As of 2026, the Mission Viejo HOA operates as a volunteer community organization providing
valuable services to neighborhood residents including:
- Large-item trash pickup twice annually
- Community events and seasonal activities
- Garden club and environmental initiatives
- Neighborhood discounts and member benefits
- Community communication and information sharing
Membership
Membership in the Mission Viejo HOA is voluntary and provides access to exclusive community
benefits, early access to services, and participation in neighborhood improvement initiatives.
Annual membership fees support the organization's ongoing programs and services.
Historical Background
Mission Viejo was developed as a planned community in the mid-1970s as part of Aurora's
growth and development. The subdivision includes approximately 2,600 homes and has maintained
its character as a family-friendly neighborhood with tree-lined streets and well-maintained
properties.
